Accelerated computing for the QPU
Abstract
In building toward a future where quantum computing produces compelling and durable use cases, we see two trends in HPC-QPU integration where computer architecture will play an important role. At the application layer, operators will need to integrate the QPU within the programming and runtime environment of a host supercomputer. At the QPU node, builders will need to introduce tightly coupled accelerated computing resources to perform work that improves QPU performance and unlocks new QPU capabilities. We will present a viewpoint of requirements and opportunities across the application-level and QPU-level types of coupling and share prospects for useful innovation in these spaces.
