Characterizing and suppressing noise in superconducting qubits and qudits

Abstract

This talk will address efficient noise characterization and multilevel noise suppression. In the first part, I will present our recent work on Deterministic Benchmarking, an efficient noise characterization method that captures coherent errors beyond standard stochastic error models. In the second part I will discuss dynamical decoupling for qutrits and higher multilevel systems. The results will be illustrated using transmon qubit experiments.
